Hi, I'm Joelle - born and raised in Perry County, and now living on my grandparents' farm with my own family.  I have enjoyed digging in the dirt since I was young; I think that is something inherent for farm kids, and I always loved cutting and arranging my mom's flowers and placing them on our kitchen island in the summertime to admire. During the pandemic in 2020, that I started dreaming, reading, and experimenting with cut flowers.  I thought it would be so much more meaningful to be able to share my flowers with others during this time, and that is when Pleasant Valley Flowers came into view.I am deeply appreciative of all that our land has to offer us here, particularly our flowers, and I am passionate about curating beauty through flowers for others to appreciate, whether that be for your home or your wedding day. There are miracles unfolding in our garden each day, and my hope is to share that joy with you!

The flower farm is situated on a small piece of the family farm outside of New Bloomfield; the farm has been in the family since 1925.  It was a dairy farm for the majority of that timespan, and the largest part of the farm is still producing corn and soybeans.

During all those years of livestock and crop farming, there were also always flowers.

My great-grandmother and grandmother had maintained flowerbeds and gardens on that property, and it's something special to be able to  dig your hands into the same soil where generations before you have done the very same thing; the same soil that sustained your family is now bringing you joy and satisfaction in a very similar way.  All throughout your lineage, people have watched for seeds to sprout and have marveled at the very amazing, very simple miracle that just happened before their eyes.  I hope this business keeps that idea alive and honors it.  There are miracles happening everywhere, and there is no better place to watch them unfold than at home, in your garden.

Our on-farm floral and gift shop slowly rolled out in 2024, and we continue to make improvements and add more inventory (alongside our flowers), so that you can have a one-stop-shop to find a perfect gift for a loved one to find inspiration for your own home.

The Flower Shop

Our business has grown and evolved in many ways over the past few years.  Our on-farm floral and gift shop offers mixed bouquets, home decor, houseplants, gifts and more.  It is located in the old "milk house" attached to the dairy barn of the farm.  We are largely self-service at this time (more of a farm store than a traditional florist's shop) so that I can manage the flower growing and wedding design aspects of my business - along with chasing my two little boys around!  Payment includes cash, check, Venmo, or PayPal at this time.

Wedding Design

If you are looking for whimsical, garden-inspired, natural wedding florals, you've found the right place.  Our farm-grown flowers take priority in our wedding designs, and we work together with other local growers to source our blooms as well.  We do also work with a wholesaler to source anything that is grown our of our zone or is out of season here in Pennsylvania.  At Pleasant Valley Flowers, we offer a la carte options for pick-up and full-service wedding design with set-up.  Please click here for more wedding information.
